underExposed

It has been a busy year over here! I have been working on lots of fun projects! I’ve been traveling to Calgary for the last few months working on a fun new series called underExposed

“underExposed” is an adrenaline packed, 13 episode youth documentary series, featuring Mason Mashon and Tannis Baradziej, two emerging Aboriginal outdoor adventure photojournalists, delivering to APTN starting Fall 2013.66611_313478838754439_504937242_n

The Bird/Lo Wedding

In late 2011 I was approached by Andrea and Gordon to help them capture their big day! This wasn’t a normal wedding photo gig. They wanted a video capturing their wedding ceremony that would be played the next weekend at their reception. This sounded like the prefect project for me!

Last weekend was spent in the beautiful Rocky Mountains to document Andrea and Gordon’s wedding ceremony. I had a wonderful time capturing their amazing and quirky personalities!

Here is the finished video!

The Rosies

On May 12th, 2012 The 38th Anniversary of the Alberta Film & Television Awards took place in Calgary, Alberta.  Caution: May Contain Nuts was nominated for 12 Rosies! The Rosie Awards are a wonderful night for getting fancy and catching up with great people. This year I was lucky enough to be nominated so the night had a little bit more excitement attached to it.  My beautiful Mom came as my date and cheerleader!

She must have had some good luck as I won (Best Editor for Drama under 30 Minutes)! It was an amazing night and I feel VERY honoured to be recognized! Caution: May Contain Nuts has been a wonderful show to be part of. How great is it that I get to laugh while I work! Thanks to all that help make this show happen!!!

Maud Mary & the Titanic

Saturday April 14th, 2012 was the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic. The Titanic hit the iceberg at 11:40pm on April 14th, 1912. A tragic day for many families to say the least.  Geraldine Carr has a very different story to tell of that faithful day 100 years ago.

Maud Mary & the Titanic - watch the film here (it’s only 5 mins)

I was lucky enough to be part of the team that brought Geraldine’s story to life! It was a fantastic journey through history. I even discovered that my great great great Grandfather (I hope I got enough greats in there) was to be on the Titanic that day. Thank goodness for my family that he missed the boat too!

A big thank-you goes out to all those who made it to the screening in Edmonton and to those who are watching the film in New York later today! Thank-you thank-you thank-you!
